Moroccan international left-back Zakarya Bergdich has been unveiled as Real Valladolid’s new signing.
The 24-year-old [pictured, left], who said he had ‘received good references’ about the club from players such as Raphael Varane and Geoffrey Kondogbia, told reporters he was delighted to have signed for El Pucela following his transfer from Lens.
“I’m very happy to be here and from the first moment I arrived I felt really comfortable. It’s already like my family,” he declared.
Bergdich, capped 11 times by Morocco, admitted he had sought out Real Madrid defender Varane and Sevilla’s Kondogbia, both of whom he had played alongside at Lens, to find out more Valladolid.
“I received very good references from them. They told me that Valladolid is a team that likes to play good football, just like me,” said Bergdich.
