Bruges hitman joins Sevilla

Sevilla have clinched the signature of Bruges striker Carlos Bacca, reports Marca.

The Andalusian club’s director of football Ramon Rodriguez ‘Monchi’ was in Manchester on Tuesday night to meet Bruges President Bart Verhaeghe and the player’s agent, Arturo Canales, at the Belgian club’s pre-season training camp.

After an initial offer of €6m for the Colombian international was rejected, Monchi increased Sevilla’s bid to €7m plus add-ons, a figure more to Bruges’ liking, and Bacca has subsequently penned a five-year agreement with a €30m release clause.

Bacca becomes become Los Nervionenses’ sixth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Raul Rusescu, Jairo Sampeiro, Marko Marin, Nico Pareja and Vitolo and is seen as the ideal replacement for Alvaro Negredo, if reports are to be believed, appears to be on his way to Manchester City..

The 26-year-old, who has represented his country three times, signed for Bruges in January 2012 for €2.5m from Atletico Junior and has responded with 25 goals in 35 Jupiter Pro League games.
