Mangia: Italy paid for inexperience

Italy U-21 Coach Devis Mangia believes his side paid for their inexperience after they lost to Spain in the final of the Euro Championships.

The Azzurrini went down 4-2 to La Roja in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening, but the tactician has insisted that his team deserve plaudits.

“I hope everyone recognizes my team's merits,” he told Rai Sport. “Today they have paid for their inexperience, but that is not their fault.

“They were just in experienced in some situations, but they deserve plaudits because they fought for every ball until the end.”
