Thibaut Courtois has indicated at a Press conference whilst on international duty today that he is staying at Atletico Madrid for next season.
Atleti have been in talks with Courtois’ parent club Chelsea over a proposed extension into a third year of his loan stay at the Vicente Calderon, on from two impressive campaigns so far.
Yesterday saw the 21-year-old indicate that a decision over his future was now resolved, telling reporters after Belgium’s game against Serbia that he would reveal his future on Saturday.
At today’s Press conference, the goalkeeper has confirmed that he will be back with Atletico for 2013-14.
“I will be returning to Atletico for another season,” Courtois is quoted by vi.nl as telling reporters this evening.
“There I can continue to keep my place as first choice with Belgium.
“Over the course of the season, we will then see if I will return to London.”
