Barcelona’s Isaac Cuenca has undergone knee surgery this week and now faces a recovery period of between three and four months.
The young winger was confirmed recently as requiring a second knee operation, on from a corrective procedure last summer, having continued to suffer from discomfort in the joint since a return to playing during a six-month loan spell at Ajax.
Yesterday say the 22-year-old undergo a planned arthroscopy and today it has been confirmed that he faces a recovery period of between three and four months.
Ajax had reportedly initially planned to extend the player’s loan in the Netherlands for next season, but this set-back rules Cuenca out of preseason and the start of the 2013-14 campaign.
