La Gazetta dello Sport claims Roma have turned down a €20m offer from Real Madrid for defender Marquinhos.
The 19-year-old Brazilian centre-back signed for the Serie A club from Corinthians before the start of last season and has forged a burgeoning reputation at the Stadio Olimpico since then.
So much so that both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been tracking him all season, sparking rumours it could lead to another bidding war between the Spanish giants after Neymar finally decided to plump for the Catalans this week.
However, the Italians rate Marquinhos, who made 26 Serie A appearances last term and has a contract until June 2017, much higher than the sum offered by Madrid as they are aware Manchester City are also on the youngster’s trail.
