Adan wants to leave Madrid

Antonio Adan has made clear that he wants to leave Real Madrid in the summer due to the competition for first team places he has.

The 26-year-old, who briefly was Jose Mourinho’s first choice ‘keeper this season, has since fallen behind Diego Lopez in the pecking order and, with Mourinho out in the summer, Iker Casillas is expected to come back into the frame too.

For Adan, this summer’s transfer window is the opportunity to now leave.

“I have to talked to the club. Logically my mind is made up and the club knows it,” Adan told fichajes.com this week.

“Over the past year I have realised. Obviously what I want is to play and at 26 it is not enough for me to manage eight games in a season. I want to keep playing minutes so as to progress.”

The goalkeeper still has a year left on his Madrid contract.

“I’m talking to the club to find the best solution for all and the club knows what I want, which is mostly to play.

“With Iker Casillas as the best goalkeeper in the world and Diego Lopez after the season he has just had, I think it will be difficult to see the new Coach saying that I will start.

“My situation will not change and so I am very clear and the club is aware.”
