Manuel Pablo believes in Depor

Manuel Pablo has asserted that Deportivo have survival in their own hands and that unlike two years ago, they can win their final game and stay up.

Depor went down on the final day of the 2010-11 season when they lost 2-0 at home to Valencia and other results went against them.

This weekend, the final day of the 2012-13 campaign sees the Galicians in a similar situation, hosting Champions League qualification-chasing Real Sociedad with their fate in their own hands.

Depor know that a win will render any results Mallorca, Real Zaragoza and Celta Vigo inconsequential, and guarantee them top flight football for another season.

“It’s possibly the most important. It’s a final, a final. Two years ago we were in decline and we had a tough game. Now we have the advantage and we have to take it,” club captain Pablo told reporters this week.

“We have experienced the situation two years ago, it was assumed that we would win. Nobody lays it out for you to succeed.

“According to the table 12 weeks ago, no-one would have thought that we would have been in this situation and playing for our future at our home.

“We will play a good game, we won’t be afraid. I believe we can win and we are doing things right. We are motivated that we must win.

“Real Sociedad play well on the counter-attack. They are a tough team with good players. Even so, we will face up to them and here at our home, with the support of our people, we’re going out to win.”
