Liverpool agree Aspas deal

Liverpool look to have beaten Valencia to the signing of Iago Aspas, having reportedly agreed a €9.5m move.

Aspas caught the eye with his early season form for struggling Celta and was strongly linked with a move in January, with Reading, Chelsea and Los Che all thought to be talking to his representatives.

Even with Valencia expected to come back in with an offer this summer, reports in both Spain and Britain this week have it that they have been beaten to the punch by Liverpool.

The Premier League side have reportedly agreed a €9.5m fee with Celta to take the 25-year-old at the end of the season, on a €1.6m net annual salary.

It is understood that whilst Aspas’ buyout clause is currently set at €10m, the Galicians have agreed a sale just under that with Brendan Rodgers’ side as the clause is set to drop to €7m, if Celta are relegated back to the Segunda.
