‘Good luck to Depor in Segunda’

Whilst admitting that Celta Vigo’s chances of survival remain in the balance, Abel Resino suggests that there is no way out for Deportivo.

Depor are currently 17th in the table and a point above the relegation zone, but welcome Champions League-chasing Real Sociedad on the final day of the season.

A win for Celta Vigo in their last game, coupled with a draw or defeat for their Galician neighbours will send Depor down.

Celta remain competitive in the fight thanks to a 2-0 win earned on Sunday evening at Real Valladolid.

“It was a good day, no-one took has given us or the team anything and we wanted to get to the final day with our chances still open and for our fans, but it does not depend on us,” Resino reflected afterwards.

“Our chances? I wish Deportivo the best in the Segunda Division, but let’s wait to see what happens, we do not know the results, but I do imagine that Real Sociedad will win for their hopes of reaching the Champions League.”
