Reports in the British Press today have suggested that Gareth Bale will sign a new contract at Tottenham before the transfer window opens.
The Daily Mail have claimed that the Welsh attacker will put pen-to-paper before July 1, but Tottenham will add a clause which would allow the 23-year-old to leave in 2014.
Bale has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months, with Zinedine Zidane admitting on Saturday that he was the third best player in the world.
And with Spurs failing to qualify for the Champions League this term, a deal with Los Blancos looked increasingly likely.
However, stories on Sunday in the Press have suggested that the former Southampton will stay in the Premier League for at least another season.
