Diego Simeone has offered his support to Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao, if he leaves the club or if he stays.
The Colombian is subject to continued speculation of interest from a number of clubs this summer and is reportedly set for talks with Atleti to determine if he accepts a move elsewhere, or stays for another season.
“I do not know anything official yet. I wish him well,” commented Simeone this week.
“I have known him since he was a child and if he feels he needs to take a step to improve, I will be happy for him.
“If he stays with us, I will be even more.”
Simeone was talking after Atletico’s trip out to Singapore this week, which culminated in a competitive friendly against a Singapore select XI.
“I think they had a good approach and it was fun. The grass was very hard, but many grew up playing the sport in the street and football is football, you play where you play.
“The reception in Singapore has been extraordinary. All I have are words of appreciation. We were very comfortable.
“We got to know beautiful places in Singapore and enjoyed the welcome that was given to us by the people.”
