Barca unveil kits for 2013-14

The home and away kits that Barcelona will wear next season have been unveiled, revealing a take on tradition.

La Blaugrana will maintain blue and red colouring for the home jersey, as well as switching back for next season to a regular and more traditional striped pattern, with a yellow V-shaped collar marked out. The shorts and socks are blue, with the socks including yellow detailing.

The away style, as reported as far back as last September, adopts the colours and design of the Senyera, the flag that represents four of Spain’s autonomous communities – Catalonia, Aragon, Valencia and the Balearic Islands – and is also used on the Spanish coat of arms.

This is the first time in the club’s history that the away kit has fully integrated the Catalan flag into its design. The shorts and socks are yellow with red detailing.

Detailing on both shirts will see the stripes fade out on the sleeves, whilst both shirts, designed and manufactured once more by Nike, debut the club’s new shirt sponsors Qatar Airways.

The kits are also made of recycled material, with the club’s Press release listing that 13 recycled plastic bottles are used to make an average shirt and shorts set.
