Madrid to formalise Mourinho exit

Real Madrid will this week reportedly meet with Coach Jose Mourinho to determine his continuation at the club.

It was originally indicated in more than one Press conference in recent weeks that Mourinho would wait until the end of the season to sit down with President Florentino Perez and general manager Jose Angel Sanchez to discuss his future at Madrid.

However, following on from Friday’s Copa del Rey Final defeat to Atletico Madrid, which confirmed a trophyless campaign for Los Blancos, both club and Coach are seen as open to holding that meeting this week.

This is in spite of Madrid having two League fixtures of the current campaign left to fulfil – a trip to Real Sociedad next weekend and a home meeting with Osasuna the following.

It is reported in Spain today that Mourinho will communicate his desire to not continue at the Santiago Bernabeu, amid continued links with a return to Chelsea, whilst Madrid are also seen as pushing to secure Carlo Ancelotti’s exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

A year ago after winning La Liga, Mourinho was handed a new contract with Madrid through to June 2016.
