Valdes set for Monaco option

Victor Valdes is reportedly eager to leave Barcelona this year and has chosen Monaco as his destination.

It is rumoured that the 31-year-old has informed Barca of his intention to leave the Camp Nou this year, on from deciding not to renew his contract beyond its June 2014 expiry.

Where Valdes has been thought interested in a possible move to the Premier League, reports today have it that newly returned Ligue 1 outfit Monaco have come in with an offer.

It is understood that the goalkeeper has accepted their terms and his decision on moving to the Stade Louis II this summer is already ‘final’.

Barca are seen as ready to wait for Valdes to make the first move publicly, by informing them of his desire to leave this summer, before then considering offers in the region of €25m.

Monaco are also apparently interested in Valdes’ teammate Dani Alves, who has previously been linked with Ligue 1 rivals Paris Saint-Germain in summers past.
