Sergio Ballesteros is reportedly considering taking legal action against Levante teammate Javier Barkero, after recent allegations made against him.
Reports leaked at the start of the month that Barkero had accused a handful of his teammates twice, including Ballesteros, of ‘not trying hard enough’ in a 4-0 home defeat to Deportivo.
The game has since been confirmed by the Spanish Football League as having already been under investigation on the suspicion of match fixing, before Barkero made his accusation.
Despite Barkero apologising publicly to his colleagues and going back on his insinuations, El Partido de las 12 allege that Ballesteros sees that his ‘honour has been stained’ by the accusation having been made public and that he has consulted his lawyer over what action he could take in response.
