Barcelona have signed young attacking star Gerard Deulofeu to a new four year contract, committing the 19-year-old until June 2017.
The B team star had been linked since last summer with a move away from the Camp Nou, in light of a burgeoning reputation and a relatively low buyout clause of €8m.
Barca had been negotiating an extension to Deulofeu’s contract for several months and, whilst reports indicated that the player was hesitant due to a lack of first team opportunities so far, they have today reported that an agreement has now been reached.
It has been confirmed that the forward will this Wednesday evening sign on until June 2017 and see his buyout clause boosted to €35m.
Deulofeu, who has appeared four times for Barca’s first team, has 18 goals to his name this term in La Segunda, representing Barcelona B.
