Aguirre hails 'honest' Espanyol

Javier Aguirre has admitted that his Espanyol side want to round off an 'extraordinary campaign' with a win over Real Madrid.

The Periquitos host Los Blancos looking for the three points that could condemn Jose Mourinho's side to second place and hand Barcelona the title.

But the Mexican boss has admitted that the capital club are always a strong team and will be difficult to beat.

“We have to think of our own performance,” he told a Press conference. “We are an honest team.

“We want to make this very good season into an extraordinary one.

“Everything else is just secondary.

“To win we have to work hard and play well.

“But Madrid are always Madrid. They went to Vicente Calderon with only five or six starters and still won.”
