Eric Abidal is reportedly starting to feel that Barcelona’s delay in offering him a new deal is because they do not want him to continue at the club.
The Frenchman, who has recently made a return to playing after a year out recovering from a liver transplant, was described by his agent earlier this week as increasingly frustrated at Barca.
This is borne out of their apparent delay in coming forward with a new contract offer for the 33-year-old, whose current deal expires this summer.
Marca say that Abidal has now indicated to teammates that he is expecting to leave at the end of the season.
“If they still haven't contacted me at this stage of the season, it's because they don't want me to continue at the club,” the defender is quoted as telling one colleague at the club this week.
