Barcelona will reportedly look to only loan Martin Montoya out to Inter this summer, rather than sell him.
The Catalans’ defender is understood to be the target of a number of clubs this summer, with Real Betis and Liverpool said to be competing with Italians Inter for his signature.
Montoya, who is seen as open to a move in order to gain first team football in a World Cup year, will reportedly only be made available by his club on loan, say Marca.
Barca apparently still see the 22-year-old as a successor to Dani Alves at full-back and so are not willing to discuss a permanent sale.
This could break any proposed move to Inter, with the Serie A side reportedly not prepared to negotiate for anything less than a purchase of the defender.
Montoya’s current contract with Barcelona expires in June 2014.
