Tottenham track Sergi Roberto

Tottenham Hotspur are believed ready to take Sergi Roberto from Barcelona B this summer, as first-team opportunities at the Camp Nou close up.

Versatlie central midfielder Roberto has reportedly been told in a recent meeting with Barca that he faces tough competition in the senior side to be guaranteed any sort of playing time.

His agent, Josep Maria Orobitg, reportedly has offers on the table from a number of clubs, and speculation is that one is from Tottenham.

This follows on from Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas’ recent talks held with Camp Nou officials, for an unspecified reason.

The Portuguese tactician, when out of work last year watched Barcelona B and reportedly kept tabs on a number of youngsters including Roberto.
