Pepe dropped for Malaga

Jose Mourinho has followed up the assertion that Pepe won’t start against Malaga by dropping him entirely from the squad.

The Portuguese defender spoke out against his Coach at the weekend for Mourinho’s latest words about Iker Casillas.

Accusing the tactician of lacking respect, Pepe was called out by Mourinho yesterday as having an issue with having lost his place in the first team to Raphael Varane.

On from also asserting that Pepe was not in the starting line-up for Wednesday evening’s League visit of Malaga, the Coach has discarded the 30-year-old from the matchday squad too.

Marca speculate that other club officials are also taking issue with Pepe for the timing of his words, in light of the Copa del Rey Final coming up next week.

Real Madrid squad to face Malaga: Casillas, Diego Lopez, Adan, Varane, Albiol, Coentrao, Carvalho, Nacho, Fabinho, Kaka, Ozil, Xabi Alonso, Essien, Modric, Callejon, Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Higuain.
