Barcelona can win the Spanish League title on two occasions before they next play, depending upon Real Madrid’s results.
Barca’s 4-2 win over Real Betis on Sunday evening re-opened an 11-point gap at the top of the table, following on from Los Blanco’s 4-3 win at home to Real Valladolid the day before.
With 12 points left to play for, Madrid must beat Malaga on Wednesday in their Week 36 re-arranged fixture and then Espanyol away on Saturday in Week 35 to prevent Barca being crowned champions before they play next away at Atletico Madrid next Sunday.
If Jose Mourinho’s side win their next two games, then a win for La Blaugrana at the Vicente Calderon will be enough for Barca’s 22nd League title and a fourth inside the last five years.
