Lionel Messi has once more reported in for training at Barcelona on a designated day off as he continues to try and recover from injury.
The Argentine was a surprise omission from Barcelona’s starting XI against Bayern Munich in yesterday’s Champions League semi-final second leg, and in the subsequent 3-0 defeat did not feature at all.
Explained post-match as a reaction to the player still feeling the effects of a thigh injury picked up in April’s Last 16 first leg clash against Paris Saint-Germain, Messi has come in to training today on an other designated day off in a bid to continue his recovery.
The 25-year-old’s availability for the weekend visit of Real Betis will depend now on his injury’s ‘evolution’ today and tomorrow.
Messi was one of a number of players at training earlier in the week during another day that they had all been given off.
