Federico Fazio is reportedly Arsenal’s ‘plan B’ signing this coming summer as they scan the market for defensive reinforcements.
The Gunners have reportedly been tracking the Argentine centre-back through the season and, according to reports through the week in Britain, are lining up a £5m, €5.8m bid this summer.
However, Estadio Deportivo report that this is only if the English Premier League side cannot pick up prime target, Swansea City’s Ashley Williams.
Arsenal are said to value both Williams and Fazio’s strength in the air as a key facet to introduce to their side for next year.
Arsene Wenger’s side reportedly had a £5.5m, €6.4m bid for Fazio turned down by Sevilla back in 2009 when they were after a replacement for Kolo Toure.
