Barcelona’s promising youngster Gerard Deulofeu is reportedly set to turn down an €8m bid from Manchester City.
City are speculated in the UK as prepared to move for the Spain Under-21 international this coming summer as part of planned wholesale changes.
Whilst the English are seen as prepared to front up the €8m to buy him out of his current contract, Deulofeu is seen as likely to opt against leaving the Camp Nou.
The 19-year-old’s agent has been quoted this week as saying that talks over a new deal will conclude soon, with all parties described as eager to extend his contract beyond its current June 2014 expiry.
Deulofeu has scored 18 League goals this season for the Barcelona B side in the Segunda Division.
