Keeping Ronaldo ‘vital’ for Madrid

Jose Mourinho has reflected at how it is ‘vital’ for Real Madrid to keep hold of Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

The Portuguese forward, like his Coach, has been speculated through the season as unhappy at Madrid and open to a summer departure.

For Mourinho, keeping hold of Ronaldo in the coming transfer window is paramount.

“It would be fantastic for the club and vital,” the 50-year-old told TVI this week.

“When you have a player with these characteristics, you have to do all that is possible not to lose him.

“It's obvious that he can play wherever he wants to play.

“It would be good for Real Madrid as well as Ronaldo if he continued.”
