Canillas clarify President’s Mou claim

Canillas have apologised for their President’s claim that Jose Mourinho has said he is leaving Real Madrid, indicating that it was ‘a misunderstanding’.

Yesterday saw the capital outfit’s chief Manuel Alvarez tell reporters that the Portuguese Coach had indicated in a guest talk at the club that he would not see them next year because he would not be there.

However, Canillas, who Mourinho’s son plays for, have backtracked on the claims today.

“We regret that our President’s words were taken out of context and apologise for any misunderstanding that may have arisen as a result,” read the statement released today.

“With regard to the presentation that Jose Mourinho made on Monday April 15 as part of the 4th Football Coaches’ Refresher Course held at our club, we would like to say that Jose Mourinho gave a wonderful talk about his preparation ahead of matches and the link between studying opponents and the planning of training exercises as a result, during which he used highly professional and illustrative slides and videos.

“The atmosphere among the attendees, all members of the Canillas family, was excellent, and Mourinho, being one of us, even congratulated our coaches for their great work at the club.”
