Jimenez: Zaragoza won’t give up

Manolo Jimenez has enforced that he and Real Zaragoza will not throw in the towel just yet on their La Liga survival bid.

Defeat to Barcelona on Sunday evening, coupled with a fourth consecutive win for Deportivo, saw the Aragonese drop into the relegation zone.

Despite extending the team’s winless run to 14 games in La Liga, Zaragoza’s Coach is not giving up.

“We have entered into decline because we have done things wrong,” began Jimenez after the 3-0 reverse to Barca.

“We have to face up, not lose a single pass and fight for every ball and every minute, for those without faith should forget playing for the team.

“We were much lower [than Barca] in this game. The objective of getting something positive from the game was not met.

“Their first goal came from a corner and certainly this has not been the first time that we have conceded like that.

“I will not give up and I cannot complain about anything. We have to reverse the situation. We need to believe in the team and those who come with enthusiasm and excitement, because I have no doubt that we will make it, or at least the effort will kill us.

“Against Celta Vigo [next weekend] we have to die on the field.”
