Carlos Velasco Carballo has been chosen to referee the Copa del Rey final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
The cup final will be held at Santiago Bernabeu on May 17, with League officials confirming that the 42-year-old will be in charge for the match.
Carballo is from the capital and has therefore not been in charge of any Los Blancos or Los Rojiblancos' games since his debut in 2003.
The intention from Federacion Madrilena de Futbol [Madrid Football Federation] is to make May 17 a festival of the game in the city, with both clubs coming from the capital and the referee.
Carballo has handed out three red and 99 yellow cards in 17 League games this season.
