Barcelona have confirmed that Lionel Messi has not worsened his thigh injury despite appearing for the club in last night’s draw with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine injured his right thigh in the first leg of Barca’s Champions League quarter-final with the French and was reportedly given a recovery period of 10 days to two weeks.
However, Messi was used for half an hour of yesterday’s second leg draw at the Camp Nou, as the Catalans looked to guarantee passage to the semi-finals.
On from that though, the club have confirmed that it has not been to the player’s detriment, with tests carried out today revealing that his injury has not suffered any deterioration or change.
Mundo Deportivo believe that the 25-year-old will be rested for the weekend trip to Real Zaragoza and that his future recovery will be geared towards his full fitness for the Champions League semi-finals, the first leg of which will be played on April 23 or 24.
