El Pais have it that Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane is in talks to sign with Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes.
Mendes is one of the game’s most prominent agents and at Madrid alone currently represents Coach Jose Mourinho, as well as players Cristiano Ronaldo, Fabio Coentrao, Angel Di Maria, Ricardo Carvalho and Pepe.
Varane, who is a rising star in the game, reportedly rejected a first approach from Mendes, but is seen as having been more receptive to the agent’s second approach, which is understood to have come in December.
So much so, the 19-year-old is, according to El Pais, on the verge of agreeing to hand over management of his personal issues to Mendes.
