David Villa reflected on his return once more to international football and on the trust he has been afforded by everyone.
The striker is a few months into his comeback from a broken leg sustained in December 2011 and started in Spain’s 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over France on Tuesday evening.
“I’ve always felt as a player in this team, even when I was out,” commented the country’s record goalscorer.
“And it has been for all the love you have given me.
“I do not know how to pay it back.”
