Ozil after new Madrid deal

Mesut Ozil is reportedly pushing for improved and extended terms in his contract at Real Madrid, with ‘good conversations’ in place for months.

The German playmaker is described by AS today as happy in Madrid, but with an eye on improving his current situation.

Ozil currently pulls in €5m a season on a contract that runs through until June 2016. However, having recently dropped his agent in favour of representation from his father, the midfielder is now seen as after improvements both in the basic salary and length of the deal.

Ozil’s father Mustafa Ozil has told German magazine Kicker this week that negotiations are already under way: “There have been good conversations for months.”
