Beckham richer than Messi, Ronaldo

David Beckham has topped an annual rich list of footballers in world football, boasting a reported fortune greater than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former Real Madrid man, who signed a short-term deal with Paris Saint-Germain in January, is listed in Goal’s 2013 rich list as the footballer in the world with the highest estimated personal fortune of £175m.

This yearly survey, which includes annual accounts submitted to Companies House, properties, details of salary earnings, bonuses and other business interests, lists Barcelona’s Messi in second spot on £115.5m and Madrid’s Ronaldo in third on £112m.

Los Blancos’ Ricky Kaka is then listed as fourth in the world, whilst former Barcelona stars Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto’o, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Rivaldo all also make the top 10.
