Team behind Roura, insists Alves

Dani Alves has given his full backing to assistant Jordi Roura after Barcelona's 2-0 win over Deportivo yesterday evening.

The interim Coach has come under fire recently after the Blaugrana lost to Milan in the Champions League last 16, and were twice beaten by Real Madrid in the League and the Copa del Rey.

But the Brazilian full-back has insisted that the whole team are behind Roura, whilst also claiming that they go into the second-leg with the Italian giants full of confidence.

“If we win everyone is quiet and Jordi is the best,” he told Barca TV. “But when we lose people have to have someone to aim their anger at.

“We don't listen to any of that. Everyone knows how important Tito [Vilanova] is for us, but when the boss is not here that's when we see how good the team really is.

“Criticism is part of sport – that's what's wonderful about it.

“We go into the Milan game with a good feeling now. We played against Deportivo without fear and without nerves.

“That's what we have to do on Tuesday.”
