Atletico Madrid have reportedly identified Liverpool’s Luis Suarez as their first choice to replace Radamel Falcao, if the Colombian leaves this summer.
Falcao has been linked since the end of last season with a move out of the Vicente Calderon and he is again expected to attract bids from the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid this coming summer.
Should he leave, Atleti are believed intent on bringing in Uruguayan international Suarez in his place.
Los Colchoneros have been linked with a number of possible replacements for Falcao, including Suarez, but the Anfield No 7 is seen now by Mundo Deportivo as the prime candidate.
The capital club are understood to have already taken steps first hand to see if the player would be interested in a move and it is seen that his response has been positive.
Atletico, who are expected to receive somewhere in the region of €60m in any proposed Falcao sale, would have to come up with around €45m for Suarez.
