Soldado, Guaita ‘untouchable’

Valencia are reportedly planning next season’s squad around the ‘untouchable’ pair of Roberto Soldado and Vicente Guaita.

Financial issues at the club, which include part of their sizable debt passing into the hands of local city authorities this year, has the expectation that Los Che will have to sell, if they are to raise funds to rebuild the team in the summer.

However, Superdeporte report that Soldado and Guaita will not be headed out. Soldado was heavily linked with a departure last summer, before signing a five-year contract at Mestalla, whilst Guaita has impressed this term and been linked with Barcelona as a replacement for Victor Valdes.

Valencia have, in recent years, sold reference points in the team including David Villa, David Silva, Juan Mata and Jordi Alba, but this summer they are seen as keen to hand Guaita a new contract, keep hold of Soldado, and build around them.
