‘Bojan can stay with Milan’

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi has hinted that the club may try to keep hold of Barcelona’s Bojan Krkic for next season.

The 22-year-old is effectively on loan at San Siro this season, after the Rossoneri took up the agreement Barca originally reached in 2011 with Roma. Barca have a €14m automatic buyback clause for Bojan this summer, but it can be overridden by the Italians, if they fund a similar €15m.

Speculation has been that the player would return to Spain, having struggled to hold down a regular place with Milan.

However, Berlusconi, who is awaiting results of the latest Italian general election where he has again stood for office, commented that the Rossoneri may make a move.

“We see a player in Bojan who is very useful for his quality and vision. I think he can stay with us,” the former Italian Prime Minister told reporters in Italy today.
