‘Granada have chance to beat Barca’

Lucas Alcaraz believes that his Granada team will get an opportunity this weekend to beat Barcelona in the League.

Since replacing Juan Antonio Anquela, Alcaraz has masterminded wins for the relegation candidates over Real Madrid and Deportivo.

Ahead of welcoming Barcelona to Los Carmenes this evening, the 46-year-old has revealed his belief that El Grana will get the opportunity to win the match, even if it will be less of a chance than against other teams.

“We cannot focus on the difficulty of the opponent, but on our possibilities for victory,” Alcaraz told reporters in his pre-match address.

“We have to face this game as a new game, without it having anything to do with the previous two wins.

“When the first ball is kicked, the game’s story begins, our hope is to do well and transfer to the field what we have been working on during the week. If things go well, we can get a good result.

“I always think of how things have to be done right for the team, what we do when we have the ball and not on the difficulty of our opponents, we must focus on our chances.

“Some opponents give you more chances than others, but all teams give you something.”
