Xabi Alonso has handed Real Madrid a boost ahead of facing Manchester United by returning to full training today.
The midfielder sustained a groin injury in Week 22’s defeat at Granada, which forced him to miss last week’s friendly for Spain against Uruguay and Madrid’s Week 23 win over Sevilla.
Forcing him out of regular training, the injury also left him as a significant doubt for Los Blancos’ Wednesday night Champions League meeting with United.
However, the former Liverpool man is seen as back in contention for the Last 16 clash after returning to full training with Madrid on Monday morning.
