Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is flying out to New York today to meet face to face with Coach Tito Vilanova.
As reported last week, Zubizarreta and a couple of technical colleagues are intending to discuss a number of strategy and planning issues with Vilanova, who is in America undergoing treatment as part of his relapsed throat cancer.
“It is not possible for him to see us here [in Barcelona], as we used to every day at the training ground, catching up on everything,” reflected Zubizarreta to reporters yesterday.
“It will be a quick trip but we will see each other, and it is fundamental to transfer the affection of all of the people who have sent him positive energy, and above to talk about football, the present and the future.”
Mundo Deportivo speculate that the meeting will include transfer plans for the coming summer.
