Alves denounces racist chants

Barcelona’s Dani Alves took to social media after last night’s Clasico to complain of racist chanting from sections of the Real Madrid support.

During the eventual 1-1 result in the first leg of this Copa del Rey semi-final, there were reports of monkey chants made by sections of the crowd aimed at full-back Alves.

The Brazilian took to his official Twitter account after the game to comment on this.

“Great job by the team, shame about the result and more shame the racists there are in some places, I'm happy as I am, thanks,” posted Alves.

Meanwhile, the referee Clos Gomez reflected in his minutes of the game an incident in the second half, in which a cigarette lighter was thrown on to the pitch as a Real Madrid corner was being prepared.
