Fenerbahce want Emre back

Fenerbahce are reportedly intent on re-signing Belozoglu Emre from Atletico Madrid this month, with reports in Turkey saying they already have.

Emre moved across to the Madrid side last summer on a free transfer after four years with Fenerbahce, but has struggled to make more than a handful of appearances under Diego Simeone.

Subsequently, whilst Atleti are rumoured to be in the market for reinforcements in the position, with Jeremy Toulalan and Yohan Gourcuff linked, Emre has been linked with a speedy return to his former side.

Turkish television channel NTV Sport are reporting that Fenerbahce have already finalised negotiations with Los Colchoneros for the 32-year-old’s permanent return on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Emre has managed just four League starts this season for Atletico, but his Coach is still described in reports in Spain today as reluctant to release him due to perceiving the squad’s size as small.
