Juve confirm Llorente capture

Juventus have confirmed that Fernando Llorente has agreed to sign for them at the end of his Athletic Bilbao contract this summer.

The Spanish international forward refused to renew his Athletic contract last summer and was later confirmed by the club to be leaving on a free in June 2013, when his deal expires.

Following on from Athletic’s confirmation that Juve were opening talks with the 27-year-old about a Bosman move, the Italians have made official today the expected news of his signing from the summer.

“Juventus can confirm that Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente will join the club on 1 July 2013,” read the statement published today on the Bianconeri’s official website.

“The 27-year-old has agreed terms on a four-year deal and will move to Turin when his Athletic Bilbao contract expires at the end of the current season.”

Llorente developed through Athletic’s youth academy and has spent nine years in the team’s senior side.
