Guardiola eyeing Muniain move?

Reports today suggest that Pep Guardiola would like to bring Iker Muniain to Bayern Munich in the summer.

Guardiola is set to start a three-year contract with the Bundesliga giants from the summer and is reportedly already working on possible transfer targets.

Diminutive winger Muniain has struggled for form this season, but is reportedly an initial target for Guardiola, who is known to have admired the player from his time as Barcelona boss.

Speculation is that Arjen Robben may not suit Guardiola’s style, with Muniain seen as his potential replacement.

However, relations between Bayern and Muniain’s club Athletic Bilbao are strained following last season’s protracted transfer of Javi Martinez, when the Germans activated his €40m buyout clause.

Muniain, who only yesterday commented on his desire to stay with Athletic for the long term, has a buyout clause set at €37.5m.
