Lionel Messi has revealed that he dreams of playing in Argentina, but refused to say when he will leave Barcelona.
The record-breaking goalscorer left his home country to sign for Barcelona at the age of 11, and has insisted that he would love to end his career back in South America.
“I do not know when, but one day I will play in Argentina,” he told El Periodico de Catalunya.
“I do not want to put a deadline on it, but it is one of my dreams to play. You never know what will happen in football.”
The Blaugrana forward then commented on what was missing from his trophy cabinet.
“What's missing? Winning the World Cup. It would be awesome to win it. After winning everything with Barcelona, to get that would be the greatest thing.”
