Enrique, Baggio to assist Guardiola?

Luis Enrique and Roberto Baggio are two of the names thought to be in contention to join Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.

The Germans revealed yesterday that they have signed the 41-year-old to a three-year deal starting this summer and that he will be bringing two people with him, ‘who he trusts’.

Mundo Deportivo are speculating as to who those will be, with Guardiola’s former assistant at Barcelona, Tito Vilanova, now Coach at the Camp Nou.

Former Barca B team boss Enrique is speculated to be the prime candidate in contention to assist in the Bundesliga, for his good relationship with Guardiola. Enrique has been out of work since resigning from his post at Roma at the end of last season, after a difficult year in Italy.

Meanwhile, former Real Sociedad and Almeria Coach Juanma Lillo is also rumoured to be in consideration to work with Pep, as is Guardiola’s former teammate at Brescia, Roberto Baggio.

Baggio has completed his coaching qualifications in Italy and has more than once been linked with a move into management. The Italian legend is currently working in a technical function for the Italian Football Federation.
