Month out for Leo Baptistao

Rayo Vallecano have been dealt a blow with the news that Brazilian forward Leo Baptistao has been ruled out for up to a month.

The young forward, who has caught the eye this season with his performances at Vallecas, picked up a thigh injury during Monday’s training workout.

Tests carried out today have since revealed that the player has torn a muscle in his right thigh and will require between three and four weeks recovery time on the sidelines.

Baptistao will therefore likely miss Rayo’s upcoming games with Granada, Real Betis and Sevilla, with a match against Atletico Madrid in the second week of February seen as the game he could return for.
