Palermo-Buonanotte deal off?

Diego Buonanotte’s midseason move from Malaga to Palermo could be off, as the Sicilians admit to having second thoughts.

The diminutive Argentine has been in talks with the Serie A side since the opening of the January transfer window over a reputed €3m transfer to Italy.

However, it seems to have cooled in recent days, with the player taking part in Malaga’s last two games and scoring three times for the Spaniards.

Palermo now appear unlikely to follow through with a move, as CEO Pietro Lo Monaco admitted to reporters in the peninsula yesterday.

“We want to do everything possible to strength the team,” Lo Monaco told reporters.

“We will not give up, regardless of where we are in the League.

“Buonanotte wanted to come here. But the problem now is that we are having second thoughts about the move.”
